After a long period of stagnation, it is nice to see that results can be delivered. Kudos to Lonestar BT, BC, HT, TK, SF, and MM for handling the company for however many weeks it took to put this together. Kudos to the membership for shocking the company with our steadfast support of the solidarity policy. Here's hoping the momentum can be continued.

We might also want to award kudos to the real reasons, retirements and steady earnings. I don't think there was any shock involved. We can hope for continued momentum along these lines and future economic success, and a better understanding of how unions don't and can't run companies.
I've always maintained that it's not our company, and I have no desire to run it, and I have no control over the economy either. But I also maintain that I'll do all that I CAN do to hasten the return of those who want to come back by not picking up or going beyond to allow the company to operate with less. I'll choose not to do management's job, and it would be nice if the FQS' at UPS would stop trying to do mine.

Perhaps not shock, but disappointment that we didn't cave as so many other pilot groups have. I recently jumpseated on Alaska and they have finally recalled all their furloughees, and will soon be hiring (unless the occupy bowel movement goes after them next). The F/O in particular was pretty disgusted that their pilots continued picking up open-time with guys on the street for so long, and both were sure that it delayed recalls.
