Yea, what he said. Put your money where your mouth is and call her...

Maybe you should rethink what you think what the JetFlyer guy stands for. I've read that drivel. Sometimes its way out there.

Hey Dlax,

Might this be an appropriate subject for Pro Stan to deal with ?

I'm not really sure what Pro Standards can do....or the Union for that matter.

I think Pro Stds may respond that it's not an "operational flying issue (beyond the fatigue/safety factors of course)...and within the confines of the contract".

By disputing the pairing during the build process the Union is already stating/recommending that these pairings shouldn't be flown voluntarily.

That's why an "explicit call for unity" from the collective crew force may be the only thing we have to persuade the DP flyers to see the light.

I wish they were confronted more by their peers and friends.

I'm not either with the Capt in question here, but have spoken directly with another 727 Capt that picked up two of these when they first came out --- I haven't seen him pick up any since.

Of course, many of these folks won't change regardless of who talks with them ---- they are simply after the $$$$ --- and don't care about the long term consequences to our QOL.

My goal in being so vocal about 727 DPs is to educate folks that they exist and, hopefully, persuade the vast majority to NEVER fly one voluntarily.

I bet the number of voluntary DP flyers on these pairings over the past 4 months has still been less than 10.

Actually pretty good given there are over 450 crewmembers on the jet total.

Love to see it go to ZERO though.

In Unity...and Safety,

DLax

DPs can be picked up...and they can also be DROPPED.

Nice!!

Looks like ALL of these trips are back in Open Time in all seats (....except for a few senior SOs ).

Of course, they are still being assigned to guys on Reserve and in SUB.

Hopefully, they will just be PM O&Bs in the March bidpack.

Unfortunately the damage is done when they are picked up, regardless of whether they are dropped or not.

As far as more out and back pairings, just the opposite has occurred, the line of BFM pm out and backs is now gone (although the pairings are still in the bid pack, hmmmm). So we actually lost the only pm out and back in the 727 system.

The jackwads picking up DPs have already done the damage to the bid pack and the rest of the crew force with their selfish, greedy, got to get mine mentality. Dropping them after the fact is just closing the barn door after the horses have escaped.

The DP process is completely flawed, and will remain so as long as we allow the weakest link in our crew force to determine the success of the entire process.

Not gonna argue that they shouldn't be picked up in the first place and the damage that does collectively, but still nice to see people "correct to course" ---- and pick safety over $$$ once they become "enlightened".

(...though it does looks like we need to keep spreading the word to recent new hires. )

OK...there's only a week left in the FEB bidmonth, but the FEB BFM-QRO-MEM trips have not been "revised" with the longer BFM layovers like the March Xpairings.....and are still Disputed Pairings.

Let's finish strong in all crew positions bruddahs.

Lets ALL continue to chose Safety over $$$.

In Unity,

DLax
