Yeah, but you were a civilian!!! (just kidding) The overwater quals and heavy experience are overrated in my opinion. Of course that's all I have ever done until the 727. I think that they are just looking to stack the deck as much as possible. I can't imagine why a guy from the regionals could not be trained as easily as a guy with heavy experience from the USAF.

Congrats and welcome aboard! Have they told you a seat or plane yet? See on the line.

Hello dc8dvr. They have not told me what airplane or seat for the NOV 16th Class. They said right now it's a mix of MD-11, DC-8, 75 & 76, and 727. They said this changes by the hour!

TopDog,

Congrats on the job offer. If you were senior in the class and could pick any fleet and domicile, what would your pick be?

Well, things do indeed change. Last I heard the class was MD11, 727 and DC-8. Good to see they might have some 75/76. Did they tell you what base(s) for the 75/76 Topdog?

I didn't even ask about the different bases, so I have no idea?

Don't get too excited about base assignments. They've been changing them constantly during basic indoc for the past few months as they adjust their staffing "plans."

One new hire class that I talked to told me they were allowed to trade their assignments with each other, i.e. guy who lived in Florida traded his 757 ONT assignment with a fellow on the West coast who had been assigned 757 MIA. Other classes have been able to choose bases based on seniority within the class (birth date).
