Yup, all good points and ones to consider when being offered a job at either.. Oh, wait a minute, UPS still has guys out on furlough, while FedEx is hiring, but other than that, being "about to forced to start wearing hats and giving up our leather jackets and parkas", would sure sway me toward brown.

This has been rehashed over and over again on here. The reality is that FedEx wasn't in a position to furlough unless they planned to do so out of seniority order. They would have had to park the 727 if they did so. Once the excess was completed they could have furloughed but by then the potential benefit was gone. In my opinion 4a2b didn't save anyone's job, it just screwed a lot of people and gave the company more than they would have gotten from a furlough. Just my 2 cents.

AAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHH,, You better go back and read the mgt letter to your alpo 3 yrs ago. You were 700 over manned and looking for ways to avoid furlough and thats when 4a2b kicked in and went on for 21/2 years. So yes your 4a2b did save manny jobs and if you didn't have that language you've have been in lot worst shape today, What was so strange is as soon as you were all back to normal pay status Freddy decided to purchase 44 777's.... I wonder when he got that monet from. Never mind i think we all know the answer.
Good Night.

Indeed, and I hope you guys get your jobs back quickly. Hopefully, the TNT purchase and the 5 year anniversary of the Age 60 debacle will accelerate that.
My comment was certainly not a jab at UPS folks, especially those that were sacrificed for Davis' bonuses, merely adding to someone's previous post. And I certainly wasn't trying to make this a UPS vs. FedEx thread like Brownie seemed to be doing.
