Say "NO" to FDX CBA Section 29

And I still say bull on the membership and free loaders. I will bet 99% of the guys hired between 1999 and the 2006 contract joined and stayed. The only freeloaders of consequence here were probably pre alpa 1 FPA or alpa 2 hires. The union shop has not made more than a 2% difference in dues collected.
If you're right, agency shop or not we all effectively join the union now and pay. Great. Issue is now officially dead to you, practically speaking. next thread.

Not an issue to me, I just dont like to see guys pretend that agency shop cured the scourge of freeloading here. All of the freeloaders were grandfathered and the number of post ALPA hires who freeloaded was minimal. The funny part is unions usually admire and reward freeloaders (see OWS), except I guess when they are freeloading off of us instead of the other guy.
