HKG notices Pt2
I hear that people are getting letters again concerning the housing allowance from the Company. One I know of has received the pay up or get fired notice. Anyone have anymore info on how many are included in this hunting expedition?
And, any word on where the previous folks stand with respect to their firings? Things have been pretty quiet on the subject lately.

What I know is what I was told a few days ago, which was one of our guys received a letter from the Company. By the way he was talking, I assumed that it was a pay up or else letter, but he did not specifically say so. It is possible that it was a notice of investigation. Either way, I believe there is another round possible terminations in the future.
I will try to get some more definitive info on the letter.

An earlier rumor from a "usually reliable source" said that one of the original group used the "but everyone's doing it" defense and included names, thus prompting a new round of investigations. There may be more letters coming.

You see how that's going ...
The first terminated pilot has had his arbitration hearing, which occurred over the span of two days last month. The deadline for filing legal briefs regarding his case is in September, which is also when the second arbitration hearing will be held.
The Alaska Human Rights Commission case is proceeding, and we should expect to hear more later this month.
Don't hold your breath to hear news from your MEC Chairman, unless it is regarding a Retirement and Insurance issue or the "financial health of our employer". You know, he'd make a good R&I Committee Chairman.

Rather than pursue a team-building, unifying endeavor such as assessing the membership for $1 per terminated pilot per month ($4 per month for those who are weak in math), our MEC Chairman persuaded the MEC to embark on a campaign of improved communications regarding the improper terminations.

I have another idea, how about the 4 take the deals that the VP wrote about and of and any monies that are determined to be paid back via arbitration are then paid via voluntary or required assessment? At least they would have their jobs back rather than 1 dollar a month from each of us? For all 4, even a 6 figure repayment for each, would be less than 100 bucks each...

Flame on, Johnny human torch...
We know how you feel about the Chairman, and I do not have enough info to know whether or not he is doing the "right thing" or "enough" in this case but we have to remember he is not the MEC. He speaks FOR the MEC so they either agree with him or they are under his "spell" and are simply weak minds? Which is it Tony?
