We know how you feel about the Chairman, and I do not have enough info to know whether or not he is doing the "right thing" or "enough" in this case but we have to remember he is not the MEC. He speaks FOR the MEC so they either agree with him or they are under his "spell" and are simply weak minds? Which is it Tony?
I have another idea, how about the 4 take the deals that the VP wrote about and of and any monies that are determined to be paid back via arbitration are then paid via voluntary or required assessment? At least they would have their jobs back rather than 1 dollar a month from each of us? For all 4, even a 6 figure repayment for each, would be less than 100 bucks each...
This needs to be fixed

Some aren't. But he does have a lot of stooges and thugs paid for by our dues...flight pay loss for loyalty. One ANC Capt is his private go to stooge..see how much he is flying. And the there was the P2P guy who quit, lost his mind with private letter campaign, but after he accomplished his mission came back to P2P - he is certifiable if you read any of his ramblings. But I digress.
The comm sucks from SS as he is not supportive. Wants this to quietly go away He wouldn't confront a fly and is only good leading girls softball teams or talking about R and I - also his favorite topics.
But I agree on what you said, cut a deal and we can make good the difference. Better than funding some of the so called "professional volunteers" so they don't have to commute from the east coast to ANC and deliver a crappy product.
Safety chair quit btw. Whats up with that?

I have to make a retraction here on this thread I started. I have been informed that my info is totally incorrect. The person whom I said had recently got a letter did not get a letter....recently. Although he was part of the original 20 who was investigated, he has not heard anything since then.
I must have misunderstood what I was told; egg on my face. I didnt mean to stir things up with bad info!

Glad to provide you the humor...
"You and your ilk"? (Defined later) Are you actually implying he is a good leader? Wow...
However, lets review leadership traits...ones that I know aren't exhibitied by this current group and the privileged Flight Pay Loss bandits...
Dependability
Decisiveness
Integrity
Unselfishness
Knowledge
Loyalty
If your happy with these guys, great, but then a lot of guys are happy with our current president. I guess we'll agree to disagree.
But you didn't address the issues of Flight Pay Loss loyalty - we are spending more money like drunk sailors (not to insult drunk sailors...they work and produce a product)
This current group has "special volunteers"...with no oversight on how many days they really are working. The FPL numbers should be made public, or at least available upon request with a calander of days worked. Trust but verify...the cursory oversight taking place is a joke and like the fox guarding the hen house.
Under the evil Webb admininstration, days had to be accounted for. Financial oversite was done by independant 3rd party. It was open and transparent.
I think SS has a team and a machine, and like in politics, those that are half as capable are twice as devious. They are half as capable, and they are twice as devious.
Ask a tough question on why we are spending money the way we are, or why did you talk to the company and try to negotiate a 4.a.2.b settlement that wasn't vetted by the MEC - all of a sudden a recall appears - that is transparency and leadership?
Peel back a few layers on this onion, you will see it is rotten. But some people are seeing it. Maybe that is why some major committee chairs are leaving in droves? Safety, Security, and soon some others if the rumors I'm hearing are true.
Ilk, I like that word...LOL - one of the many definitions:
When one uses ilk, as in the phrase men of his ilk, one is using a word with an ancient pedigree even though the sense of ilk, "kind or sort," is actually quite recent, having been first recorded at the end of the 18th century. This sense grew out of an older use of ilk in the phrase of that ilk, meaning "of the same place, territorial designation, or name." This phrase was used chiefly in names of landed families, Guthrie of that ilk meaning "Guthrie of Guthrie." "Same" is the fundamental meaning of the word. The ancestors of ilk, Old English ilca and Middle English ilke, were common words, usually appearing with such words as the or that, but the word hardly survived the Middle Ages in those uses.

I'm 99% sure there is an agreement between the union and the company that there won't be any more investigations until the first 4 are decided. (we were told that in an LEC meeting I think) If those are upheld more will come quickly .... I'd bet. I'd be moving to HKG or stop taking the allowance if I were questionable at all.
But, that's just my thought.

Impression of those at meeting was not a warm fuzzy. Rather chilly.
