Golfandfly and the rest

Ive been airline flying since 92'. Have seen this same story over & over again. Dont pull the wool over your own eyes and dont let your heads get thicker than they are already. To guys like yourselves its complicated & confusing. To experienced guys like myself,, again,,its the same story and really pretty simple.

In an effort to produce the most ignorant posts in the history of APC, you've really outdone yourself.

So you are using your 20 years of experience to justify your criticism of a UPS captains flying skills who had 20 years experience. Apparently experience means nothing. Tell me in your experience if you can get used to flying fatigued can you get used to flying drunk? Both physical states lead to similar "pilot" errors.

Glad you think so highly of your "experience"! From another opinion from someone who's been in the industry, the only thing that is plain and simple is your myopic view of a single incident that you know very little.

Couldn't disagree more with you, but then, I only have about 40 years of flying, and just 30 of that with the airline, so I probably don't have background to comment...

Just when I thought you had the most idiotic post, this one even beats the last. I've been in the business for some time myself, and although it's natural to jump to conclusions, I prefer to have the facts before coming to judgement. It's generally not a bad thing out of respect for your fellow aviators. The investigation will conclude, and hopefully we can all learn something from the mishap.

By the way, you just don't escape the effects of fatigue by "being used to it." I would think you might know this with your experience.

C'mon guys...

We all know that:

1) In your 8th year of night flying, you become used to flying fatigued.

2) In your 12th yr of flying international, you become used to crossing multiple time zones.

3) In your 16th year of heavy drinking, you become used to being drunk.

4) In your 20th year of "airline flying", you become used to being a complete and utter jackass.

Stop feeding this troll.

Yeah, but some of us pilots are way over conservative.

I fly with some captains that always add fuel no matter what, even when we don't need it.
We had the standard taxi fuel out of ANC. We were about 100m from the threshold for takeoff. The captain added about 300 kilos of fuel to the standard load, which is not required, at all. We were below min fuel before we were cleared for takeoff and had a Block Turn Back for Fuel.
