FDX-Vacation Expand question
#11
Related question for the pros: with vacation starting on 30JAN, if awarded a DEC line with C/O into JAN, will the C/O trip be removed during the conflict/input window? Or will it be removed at a later date? (My vacation doesn't even show on the VIPS calendar at this time). I am wondering because if the C/O trip stays on my schedule during conflict/input, I can use protect min days off to knock out more DEC trips.
Thanks.
Thanks.

Thanks FDXLAG. Yes, I meant 30DEC.
So, if the DEC into JAN c/o trip is knocked out immediately, will the footprint of the trip still be "conflicatble" for min-days off? Or, do those days under the ghost footprint automatically become actual days off?
Thanks.

The big thing I keep in mind is the company will not pay you for the same day twice when it comes to vacation (absent a buy back).

LAG, definitely good advice. I'll be calling CRS Futures tomorrow.
Another hypothetical question for those who may know, if you bid to protect min days off and you have one of two trips that could be removed to protect min days off, and trip A is 5 days long but early in DEC, while trip B is only 2 days long but touching 24 or 25 DEC, which trip would they remove?

Assumes you meet all the other expand rules. As you expand, if the remaining hours in the bank goes below zero, it won't let you expand anymore. If you are expanding along to the left and have a string of 6 hr trips, and only have 17 hours left in the bank, the first trip expanded lowers it to 11, then the next to 5, then the next to -1; now you can't expand anymore.

Talked to Contract enforcement and Crew Planning (and programmer) today. They said that you can only expand if your vacation hours are a positive number.

As FDXLAG and Pakagecheck had correctly stated, thanks guys (I confirmed with CRS futures):
- footprint days of C/O trip removed for vacation will count towards days worked to protect min days off.
- during C/I, a longer trip will be dropped to protect min days off, even if a shorter trip would satisfy, if shorter trip touches a holiday.
