UPS Hiring in the New Year
#121
All I can say is WOW.....where do you work?
Do you even remember we have people like myself on the street? Best its been in 5 years?
Wow, what altered reality do you live in? 3 failed attempts at new "work", an airline that continues to shrink, no growth, mgmt that flies while IPA folks sit at home, I could go on, but I don't think you'd get it if I wrote all day long.
People on the street CANNOT get a job anywhere else due to the "brown stain", trust me on that one. All the while the bean counters turn out 1 Billion a quarter.
If I were you I'd turn in that management letter you get every year, if you haven't already.
Carry on, I'm going back to my crayons again.

Most if not all of the 44 are great folks as well and my guess is that when they come back, they will be upbeat about their future, positive about returning to work and not influenced by the negativity of the few. I think most everyone reading this thread can figure out who the "few" are.

Yes we do. It's one of the reasons why I'm still here.

actually a few went to Fed EX when Purple was hiring, one even Fed Ex'd his resignation from what I hear, but dont kick a man when he is down, most guys and gals thought they had the golden ticket when they were hired by big brown,it must hurt to see billion dollar profits and no recall in sight. I wish nothing but the best for them, greener pastures, better times.

You sir, are a true idiot. As to our UPS brothers and sisters, please forgive MEMBrain, because he knows not of which he speaks, because he is brainless.

I'm not arguing points I never made. The future for our pilot group is better now than at any point in the last five years.
I understand the "brown stain" and know it's a real roadblock to getting another job. I have a very good friend who I talked into coming to UPS who is furloughed. I get it.
The fact is that we were overstaffed. Big time. The previous IPA called the bluff and lost and screwed it up big time. However, the IPA saved tons of jobs too. We should have furloughed 300 and the company was flirting with the 300-500 number for a while too (and yes, that included me in the threatened group.). The IPA was able to keep the number much lower and even force call backs. As a publicly traded company UPS is unable to keep people employed if it takes away from profits. It's a fiduciary responsibility.
Front seat hating the company is pointless. The furloughees being mad that UPS is making billions is irrelevant. They'll be recalled when the boxes stop moving due to pilot shortages and not one moment sooner.
For what it's worth, I think we are getting close.
