I'm sure the 150+ CH she'll make this month are worth not having a new contract for another couple of years.
It's my understanding that ANC always had very wise, experienced Captains that understood how to mentor less experienced FOs

Hopefully, they still do

Were "field drafting" yesterday for a Midwest trip. One FO turned it down, maybe more.....but someone did receive the assignment.

3 calls this week for CGN...of course I only know this from listening to the voicemail...the next day! I prefer to wait a day to listen to voicemails and then check to see who accepted the draft.

I heard that years ago, during negotiations for the first contract, part of the cockpit briefing consisted of looking at each other's Trip Recaps, to see the pay code on them (DRF, VOL, etc...), so that some "mentoring" could take place. I like that idea.

Plenty of standbys loaded into the 76 open time to prevent dropping and trading. They will be shorthanded in June in the SBA, July in the LDS. My draft calls in the last 30 days have equaled the number of draft calls in the first 13 years.

Advanced Volunteer for 777 Capt in June. If this isn't a golden opportunity for applying leverage, what is? UNITY NOW!

VIPS-Crew Information-Misc Preferences-Draft Choice-
You prefer to not be called

----------
Was told by a mechanic jumpseater last week that "there are no more aircraft standbys." More Kaizen/LEAN philosophy, that has a negative cost to our reliability and brand reputation. They had a MEM Airbus FMS database being updated to Asia to fly west and cover a broken MD somewhere in the Pacific.
------------
Contract now, gents and ladies. Wear the lanyard. Show up ready to be a professional. Don't fly DPs, sick, OR fatigued. Schedule accordingly. It's a GREAT time to get more quality time with the family. Oh, and most importantly--FLY SAFE!

Everyone should put that they preferred to get called, then turn them down. That would require a lot of calls to cover a trip.

I totally agree. Ask lots of questions. Tell them you have to check with the wife, kids, ETC. Then tell them you are bummed, you can't do it, but please call again.
