True they are considered to be: "Subordinate Officials"
DORSEY v. UNITED PARCEL SERVICE CO. | Leagle.com
If you are not the person who can hire or fire then you are NOT a manager.
If a NURP wants a pilot who is in good standing fired then he must conspire with a true manager to see that it is done.

To be in the midst of such experience would leave me awestruck.

Not to mention I'd have the honor of "you bet your job" rides with an EMB-145 captain...be still my heart. Oh yes...on overwater checks he could regale me with his crossings over Lake Michigan. On international flights he could dazzle me with his EWR turns.

Btw, you'd be surprised how daunting some of those lake Michigan crossings can be

Differentiate yourself by your accomplishments and credentials not by selling out your fellow pilots. Look at Loons previous posts and you'll see he'll be perfectly at home as a NURP.

Loon, you made a comment about no one calling because you're a white male with no family connections. Poor excuse to go for one of the notorious positions in the airline world. BTW I'm a white dude with no family connections and I'm surrounded by similar folks in training right now.

From his continued posts, I would imagine that if management figures out who he is, he will be getting a call for that position which he is "evaluating" so carefully.
I'm sorry that you guys have to deal with those people who are attracted to those positions, in the cockpit.

Now now, I wasn't using the "white card" as an excuse; no, I was just saying that there are "outside influences" that affect some more than others. In retrospect, I should never have said it because it gave a guy like you an opportunity to use it in your own twisted context. Good luck in training!
But don't be under the illusion that white males who don't have family ties aren't going to get called. The reality is, probably at least 90% of the people who are getting called are in that category. There just aren't enough minorities and people with family ties out there to compete with.
Reminds me of when I got hired by FedEx, I was talking to a friend's wife, who was complaining that her husband couldn't get an interview because of all those women and minorities they were hiring. My response, "Yeah, must be tough competing for those 95% white guy slots!"
