Latest company negotiations update

Well thanks, PC. You have just removed the last impediment to immediate retirement for a large number of retirement eligible pilots before peak fully sets in! They can now retire any day they like, because entering mediation means no chance of an improved agreement before the end of the year or before they turn 65. No point in hanging around for more sim checks, line checks, low vis approaches, de-icing, sick leave harassment, deviation nickel and diming, etc. and general disrespect of this extremely hard working crew force. Stock price up 27% in the last year alone, yet company can't afford to come to an agreement? Give me a freakin' break! Good luck manning flights for the foreseeable future. This appeal to the NMB at this point in time was obviously part of their plan from day one! Business as usual? Not a chance!

Apparently, the Company sees no economic value in our good will. But, hey; at least we can put each other in for BZs.

I honestly don't understand all the commotion. We've been to mediation before, and no they can't force anything on us. Only way for that to happen is IF we agreed to BINDING arbitration and I don't think that's going to happen, we'll get released first.
Relax, its all part of the choreographed dance that has become the norm in airline negotiations. They'll make their pitch, we'll make ours and this will carry-on for probably close to a year. Then we'll get down to nut cuttin time about this time next year. Then we'll see what kind of cajones both sides have.
In the mean time we just need to keep doing what we're doing. If they keep having nights like last night...dropped at least 5 trips, then the pressure will ramp up exponentially and we might see some movement. We may not like it, but time is on ourside. Economy is picking up, retirements ramping up, lots of seat swaps coming and that means lots of lost productivity due to training...maintain an even strain and we'll win this!
Nothing to see here folks...carry on as normal

I think it may be time for us, the Crewforce to have a Unity BBQ/ meeting sometime in the near future to show our solidarity. I would be willing to donate $100.00 towards food or beverages. Anyone else want to help to organize this event? I think it would most likely be held on Saturday or Sunday. I also have room in my crash pad and a 9 seat passenger Suburban for transportation needs.
