That beard looks like an O2 mask will work with it! FOM legal?

Do like the French... Hang a shoulder board on a button.

Also, there's nothing like freezing to death in Anchorage with -5F, 25 MPH winds, and blowing snow in a pilot jacket, dress shirt and undershirt, tie flapping in the wind, dress shoes walking around in the snow, etc.etc.

These fancy jets have something called an APU. 72F +/- 5.

Show us how to use it to heat the exterior of the aircraft during the walk around, and I'll be impressed. And unfortunately some of those fancy jets have such weak airflow that they barely budge the cockpit temperature on a hot Memphis summer day.

How I am going to tell Purple pilots from all the rest when walking around Anchorage? Just by the faded blue jeans and white tennis shoes?

There is always the Greg Norman Shark logo knock off polo shirt giveaway. Combine that with the faded jeans, and white tennies, and you've got purple pilot glaring like a neon sign. But without the leather jacket, it's just a sign, and not a billboard.

What jacket (if any) are new-hires issued?

You'll be issued the parka with removable liner and the blazer which will be tailored to you. After you try the blazer on and take it home, it will take up a permanent place in your closet.

Edit to Add: New hires are also issued two pairs of pants and five shirts (all tailored to you), two belts, two ties, and two sets of epaulets.

Thanks, glad I don't have to buy the parka!
