Was told 2nd quarter class date. No firm dates past the one starting next week. Hiring for attrition now, projected quarter by quarter. Expecting SDF.

This will be my 7th rodeo. Two trips through bankruptcy. One furlough. Flying in four different countries. (Almost 5) I'll be 50 this year. Probably got the job because I was seasonal help a few Christmases ago during one of my unemployment stints.

I'm (will be) happy to be here. Tired of the Expat Sky God thing. Nothing said here hasn't been experienced or heard previously. I've mowed on both sides of the fence and painted it, too. There will always be 2% that hate everthing and everyone.

In my 23 yr. airline career there are many things you can't do anything about, so no sense in worrying about it. Count your blessings, work hard, don't sweat the small stuff.

One rumor note: When asked how long the MD11s will be around, my interviewer seemed to think until 2022-2025. They will have to do something about it by then. He also said they'd like to get away from 4-engine aircraft. That's probably his opinion, not a statement of fact.

 

There is a class on 31 March, and another probably the last week of April, to be comprised of the 24 additional newhires announced a couple weeks back.

 

Let me correct it for you. "They'd like to get away from aircraft" should be a statement closer to what UPS wants.

Hahaha. No offend intended, but your interviewer literally knows as much or even less than you do regarding UPS's plans. Hahah. It's funny to me that people like him even answer those types of questions and some people believe it.
