I don't think so. However that is a different issue then whether one prefers to start at UPS tomorrow or one of the big 3 passenger airlines.
Some pysch studies show that one puts extra perceived worth to object or condition if one already has it in their possession. A pilot already at UPS who has a perceived sunk cost is much less likely to change then someone with no sunk costs or emotional attachment to previous decisions.

Believe 3 is the answer.
2 who were furloughed. One went back to previous furloughed airline. One who is already mentioned.
The third individual was in the original 300 targeted for furlough and though never furloughed at UPS and he knew he missed the 109, he prepared and decided to follow through with his interview at FedEx. They offered him the job, he decided to accept the offer and is still employed at FedEx.
In the past, UPS had hired AA and DAL furloughees from the 90's timeframe. Many of both went back to those companies during the recall periods for those folks, some stayed UPS. My recollection is more DAL furloughees returned to DAL than AA. In the last decade, UPS hired furloughed AA/TWA folks. A few, very few, of these folks are mulling their options (at least publicly about returning to AA). None has left UPS though.

I was aware of the 3, and I understand why they would leave if furloughed or about to be. I have been wondering about the AA furloughees as I had a few in my new hire class, but none have, so far, left.
