Of course the big difference between then and now is that then the EB had a contractual right to call for an open time ban. Now they do not have the right to call for one. How our actions play out in front of the NMB would be wise to keep in mind. Both parties are expected to continue the status quo. A wildcat open time ban will certainly not be seen as status quo by the mediator.
(Disclaimer: I do not pick up open time or accept JA's so a wildcat ban has no effect on me other than how we look to the NMB.)

His predictions and his claims are as worthless as mudguards on a tortoise.

Patience Shaggy.... Some of our members take time and encouragement to "see the light".... I think Lil' J has some thinking to do on this one.
After a while it is tough to refute the slaps in the face.
What do I know.... He may be a "good guy big picture dude".... Decision time for Lil' J.

A friend of mine had a class date on the 31st with UPS. He also had a class date at a legacy carrier this month. He chose the legacy over brown. If he had any reservations, I am sure they are certainly gone now.
This is an embarrassment for such a company. I hope something good comes to those who were packing their bags (literally) for their UPS class date.

I agree with some that our union should go with a public shaming campaign and bring in the national media to tell the world how this company routinely goes out of its way to ruin people's lives, needlessly for the most part.

If anyone has questions of how dysfunctional UPS is then this should be a wake up call. Hard to believe something like this happens, but it does here.
I heard that one of the reasons they canceled these two classes is because of how "productive" our NURPS were during the recent snow storms in SDF. Glad they were there to help. I guess some bean counters started doing the math and figured the NURPS could fill the void for another 6 months or so for these 24 folks that were to be hired. Hope they still have a job at their previous employers.
So if any IPA member out there does not think this NURP system has to GO, then think again. It is number 1 on my list to the EB and NC. Not one step back on this issue.
NO MORE NURPS!

Or they are spooked by Janet Yellen's comments. The IMF has also revised downward their estimates.
"Fed officials, in updated economic projections released on Wednesday, downgraded their estimates for U.S. economic growth and inflation this year. Ms. Yellen said gross domestic product, the broadest measure of output across the economy, has seen growth slow somewhat in the first quarter, “below where it was the last several quarters of last year.”"
