You are right. These guys are only getting the bottom of the barrel right now. Why be associated with a group like that with so many other options around?

Like flying a 24-ton dump truck.

I've heard the rumor that they are "talking" about it but highly doubt it. It will be interesting to see how they deal with staffing issues in the future though. Everyone seems to want to live the dream at regionals.

Things have changed. People at regionals are making 40k plus a year first year. Plus they fly jets, fly many more hrs and get upgrade in the same time following which they make much more. If I remember correctly, the capt pay at these bottom feeders was less than 50K. Sad....

That's true for MAC, not for Empire This ain't a place for time-builders, it's a place for those of us who've done the regional shuffle, flown the jets, logged the hours, and are just looking for a place to hang our hats and enjoy some QOL 'til we decide we want to rejoin the rat race.

It's okay, man, I understand you had a rough run here. Life is too short to be negative. Just reflect on the good things and enjoy what you've got elsewhere.

You keep justifying your existence there. If you are happy, good for you. However most of the people that come here for info are looking to advance their careers, have ambition to do well in life, be appreciated for the work they do, not take the airline industry down by accepting substandard pay or work rules etc. What they need is information from their perspective. Also FYI Empire pay isn't that much more than MAC and you know it. So please stop spreading misleading information.
Thanks for the advice on enjoying life. I do that pretty well. However it is important to guide the future generation of aviators. Have a good week!!

Okay, so what info are you offering? So far all you've said is Empire pilots are not looking to advance their careers, have no ambition, don't want to be appreciated for their work, and only want to drag the industry down. Let's get some perspective, one topic at a time:
Career advancement: In the past six months, I've seen Empire pilots get hired at Alaska Airlines, Southwest Airlines, Spirit Airlines, Omni Air Int'l, Northern Air Cargo, Atlas Air, a corporate flight dept., Envoy, Skywest, and Compass. That's just what I've witnessed. Careers don't die here.
Ambition: See above. Plus, with all the free time, most guys here are experts in their hobbies, which *gasp* they have TIME for
Appreciation: The birthday card, Thanksgiving turkey, Christmas card, and anniversary presents are a nice touch. In fact, there's a wall of appreciation at HQ for the employees who've been here the longest. If that's not a sign of appreciation, I don't know what is.
Industry Standards: It's better than most regionals. QOL is high and pay is moderate. In fact, Empire's pay is 27% higher than MACs first year. Define "isn't much more."

Empire Airlines was by far the worst company I ever worked for. I am now convinced the CaptCarl is the HR lady who works there trying to get more pilots to apply there. People are leaving that place in such large numbers for a reason. They even lost a few routes because they cant staff.
People that have got the above jobs after Empire has been because of their previous experience. Besides it doesn't take much to get hired at a regional. That is hardly an accomplishment that you are bragging about. The card & turkey are pathetic. I would much rather get decent pay. And what makes you think we don't get time to pursue our hobbies. Best part is that those of us who left now have enough money to pursue the hobbies .

One more thing to consider is their extremely high failure rate due to the sub standard training they provide there. Once you get that failure on your record, you are stuck there for life. After sim training their check airmen will teach you how to dip below glideslope in critical approaches so you can "Get it done".
