I can't offer a fair comparison between regional and the big three, other than seeing mainline pilots doing the same exact goat rope I was doing and despised every second of it. If the future has me making that decision, I just hope I have something on the side that would allow me to say no and hang my hat from this industry, if I couldn't keep doing what I am doing now.

Amazon would have to spend BILLION$ to match the global networks that FedEx , UPS and DHL have. It’s relatively easy to be BIG in the USA , a lot more difficult and expensive to reach globally. Amazon , by seizing the US market as it has done , can only dream of such worldwide networks. Not cheap , not overnight and not likely. Alibaba ?

Depends on the carrier, I suppose. I Sometimes fly a 747-8F. Not sure when this comparison was meant but I sure get asked for more cockpit visits in my "old" 747 flying freight than when I flew brand new A320's. Imagine that.

Yeah man, I can’t stand being able to take a pee when I want, never dealing with TSA, 14 days off in a row. Someday maybe I will be able to fly the newest 737 with a bunch of FAs 4 days a week with layovers in exotic places like Wichita.

Or possibly your synopsis is incorrect? Does it matter? Who cares?

I don’t mean this in a bad way, but they weren’t doing the exact same thing you were. They have options. Long haul. Short haul. International. Domestic. Wide body. Narrow body.

Correct, and not arguing that they have a much better QOL from the regionals, but there's certain things you cannot escape; smurfs, pax, FA's, airport terminals, airport appreciation, and commuting(unless you move to base). Scheduling is arguable. Some can escape the 4 on, 3 off, 3,4,5 leg days, others cannot.
One cannot argue that living on base is the best of everything. Do I want to move my family and machine shop across the country? No, I do not.
