Tiger,
I had interviewed at UPS in 2006. Like you, I had no recent interview experience. My gouge was right on the money, there were no surprises, and I was very comfortable both walking in and walking out. As it turned out, I didn't get the job. Since the sim went well, I must have messed up something in the HR portion. Looking back at things, I believe I failed not because of something bad that I may have said, but because I didn't make as many good points as I would have liked.
The bottom line is, when you get in that room its a given that you will not perform at 100%. If you get some practice, either with a formal prep or interviewing at another carrier, you will bring out more of the the good points that you want to make and you won't walk out of the interview saying "I wish I would have said this, and this...."
If I get another chance to interview, I will certainly use some type of formal prep.
I hope this helps.

I used prep, didn't have to lie and was definitely myself with my words. Interview prep by most of the reputable places that offer it is no different than having someone critique your resume. The content is there but you can always improve the presentation/organization of it.

I never implied that anyone should lie in an interview. My point was that when you interview the pressure is really turned up and things may not come out right. In my case, I left the interview wondering why I didn't make all of the points I wanted to make.

UPS Chief Pilot message 02/25
The Flight HR employment team is continuing to interview and hire for future class dates. We are increasing staffing levels due to the continued international expansion and planned aircraft deliveries. However, due to the number of qualified candidates already under consideration, the Application Window for accepting flight officer applications is currently closed. When we begin accepting additional resumes we will communicate that on the pilot hiring hotline at 1-800-241-2357. At that time, the flight officer job posting will be listed under the Professional job category on the employment website at www.upsjobs.com.
