Looking back at things, I believe I failed not because of something bad that I may have said, but because I didn't make as many good points as I would have liked.

The bottom line is, when you get in that room its a given that you will not perform at 100%. If you get some practice, either with a formal prep or interviewing at another carrier, you will bring out more of the the good points that you want to make and you won't walk out of the interview saying "I wish I would have said this, and this...."

If I get another chance to interview, I will certainly use some type of formal prep.

I hope this helps.
Sorry, my last post on this subject came across the wrong way. So, I have deleted it.

I used prep, didn't have to lie and was definitely myself with my words. Interview prep by most of the reputable places that offer it is no different than having someone critique your resume. The content is there but you can always improve the presentation/organization of it.

I never implied that anyone should lie in an interview. My point was that when you interview the pressure is really turned up and things may not come out right. In my case, I left the interview wondering why I didn't make all of the points I wanted to make.

Gotta side with Slice on this one. Interview prep helped me immensely in terms of digging up the right stories for my SWA interview (and I guess I did OK since my references got called, still waiting the March DB). On a side note, practicing telling these stories with my wife was also helpful...and funny. I think the hardest I laughed in a long time was watching my wife imitate me telling one of my stories.

Default UPS Chief Pilot message 02/25

The Flight HR employment team is continuing to interview and hire for future class dates. We are increasing staffing levels due to the continued international expansion and planned aircraft deliveries. However, due to the number of qualified candidates already under consideration, the Application Window for accepting flight officer applications is currently closed. When we begin accepting additional resumes we will communicate that on the pilot hiring hotline at 1-800-241-2357. At that time, the flight officer job posting will be listed under the Professional job category on the employment website at www.upsjobs.com.
