JDawg,
Update as often as appropriate. HR is going through different hoops. Sadly, It will change tomorrow. They keep changing crap. In any case, had a bud interview last Wednesday. He didn't have any of these questions. He was a rapid call in. It seems almost random. Don't know why?
Good luck, keep pestering. Don't give up. They really like heavy and Intl experience right now. Hiring folks from World/Cathay/UAL etc. They definitely look at folks with MD-11 experience or ANC on your address. Some of these folks did not know anyone at UPS. No LOR's.
FYI, It seems like all the applicants did the sim (767 FBS is popular now, I project that to be the dominant device used, maybe the 727 Level D if they wind down the fleet fast)
They interviewed on Wednesday and Thursday this past week. They schedule folks one hour apart. First shows at 0800, second at 0900, etc. Then they did sim eval, a break, and started the HR interviews at 1300 for the 0800 guy, 1400 for the 0900 guy...

GBU-24,

Just out of curiosity - what did you put for your availability date on your UPS app? I'm wondering how far out UPS looks at applicants. I put an app in on Jan 11 for FO and now it is "on file" as a SO app and cannot update it. I put my avail as May.

I've had an app in since May 06 with an avail date of 1 May 07 and got called for an interview on 2 Jan 07. Interviewed 12 Jan and I'm still waiting for the results.

Put my '06 App in 23 Sept '06 with 15 May '07 avail. Put my '07 App in on 17 Jan with 15 May avail. "On File", "FO", can't update it, still waiting for an email or phone call.

I am able to complete the app except the flight time portion.

It won't accept it my times.
Anyone experience this?
Any advice?

Thanks

Salty Dog, thanks for the info.

By the way, what does UPS consider "Heavy Time"? Strictly what the AIM considers heavy? I am typed in and have over 1,000 hours in the A-320. While not a "Heavy" per the AIM, it's not a regional either.

A friend of mine is having the same issue. He got the error message that is stated above too. I don't know what to make of it. My only thought is the system is having more problems and no one is around to fix it.

"Heavy" by whose standards? Many companies around the globe have a different definition for heavy aircraft. Read the following, and you'll see the 12th Flying Training Wing considers the C130 and P-3 as heavy aircraft.

http://www.randolph.af.mil/library/f...et.asp?id=5531

And Emirates gives consideration to aircraft over 55 tons, MGTW. Including A-320 or A-340. Excluding regional jets.

http://www.emiratesgroupcareers.com/...P_LINK_MENU_EN

I'm only wondering if UPS uses the AIM definition, or if they have their own criteria. No need for the smart @ss reply.
