The whip saw is coming, and it's coming hard, do we still want to be represented by the same guy who welcomed the ABX guys with "open arms" getting "recalled" to ATI, with a big fat extra paycheck from ATSG? How can you get recalled to a seniority list you never were on in the first place? You know how many guys got "recalled" to CCIA? Zero! There was one ABX guy that resigned and came over, and it's still conjecture if he was getting an extra ATSG paycheck, but we resisted that push. I hope you are ready to once again welcome your ABX brothers when Hete ultimately sides with them and gives ATI the screw. And you're right mongo we need to be scared, ABX doesn't do home basing, and that's what they have always wanted to bring ATI down to. When it comes to home basing disappearing it's not an if, but a when.

I'll give you legacy guys this, you sure did have the bluff on the coach. When people were getting fired for emails at CCIA, you legacy guys were getting away with proverbial murder! Check airman drag a tail with AOA flashing on the ASI, no problem just mentor him. Airplane get shot orbiting 3000' over Camp Bastion, just mentor him. Gross navigational error, again by a check airman, and you guessed it mentor him. Good people got fired for a lot less before the merger, but for all of your faults I get humor about how you call the coach's bluff. I wonder what happened to his balls, I think mongo claims to have them in his's pocket. Bravo for that guys, bravo!

This is all going to be fun to watch. Too bad ABX ditched the grey uniforms because they would have been fun to wear to the civil war reinactments after the eventual merger.
RELAX, you guys will love ILN. The corn is nice and green and really tall in the fall.

Okay thanks.

How does the commuting out of Asia work? Do you guys have ZED fares and non rev agreements with many foreign carriers? Or is there enough frequency of company flights that they can usually jumpseat? Or is it like Omni where they make "deals" with the company and get a plane ticket purchased?

They are in coach. Coach on an Asian carrier is not a pleasant experience.

Coach class, but mostly on US carriers heading to/from Asia. I have positioned in or out of the US exclusively on DAL, UAL, or AAL over the years. I've heard Singapore and Korean are particularly nice in the cheap seats. Company does a decent job of trying to keep us on our personally preferred airlines, and "reasonable" cost differences are not preventative. That's important, partly because it can save money on checked bags if you're booked on an airline with which you have status of any kind, and mostly because there's the likelihood of getting at least a more comfy seat with status, if not an outright pity upgrade. No US carrier goes to Bahrain at the moment, so you'd most likely be on KLM (seasonal), BA, Lufthansa, Qatar, or Gulf Air. Believe it or not, coach class on Gulf air is better than any US domestic coach flight.

Not defending coach class, but it is our reality for the time being. So we make the best of it. DVT notwithstanding...

Leader of the Texas 5 ??? Well I can sure bet your either not on the seniority list or not well informed. I honestly have no idea of what your referring to. Granted I was on leave for a couple years to save a job or two, but am speechless at that one.
It's D.M. Tab.. you said your name on the internet. I had to screw with you.

I'm pretty sure that a 767 came back from Bagram with two bullet holes. I was out there not long after that and heard the mechanics talking about it. The crew didn't do anything wrong, though, as was implied. The crew didn't even know that they were fired on. As you know, the box-pattern arrival was normal for Bagram due to the terrain and need to lose altitude.

What, is this some sort of classified data? Are you going to call the CIA on me? Once again a legacy pilot is trying to justify their existence and make everybody think they are the only once that can do their job. In reality you were flying into a war zone for no hazard pay or other compensation that your peer airlines were getting and happy to be doing it. Now that I know which flavor cola you are, you are the one I heard a story about sitting down with your future chief pilot and spinning tails about living in tents in Afghanistan and watching tracers streak toward your airplane and surviving mortar attacks. Oh, sorry I can't talk about that since it's all national secrets now.

Honestly, good for them though if they could work such a deal. I know the guy your were talking about that went to all three airlines. He is back at ABX now just saw him not too long ago. Even if he was at Capital getting the override what are you going to do? They were getting those checks from ABX/ATSG not ATI or capital. The fact that we are paid what we are has nothing to do with them. They negotiated and fought for all that they have
This is the problem with people like you and the people currently in charge of our union. While you attempted to drive a wedge between you and the CCIA pilots, you welcome another pilot group who honestly was putting the screw to you and laughing about how stupid you were to let it happen. How can you say it is good that ABX was able to work out such a "deal" that was way outside your CBA? People were "recalled" to your pilot list, how can this be allowed to happen when they were never on the list to start with? Even with all the tough talk, your Union stood in front of Hete and said "please sir can I have some more". You can say what you want to about the CCIA pilots but there was no way we were going to stand for any ABX person to come over and invade our lists and make a dime more than our pilots! That's why we have contracts for, that's why we negotiate, and that's why we have representation. We don't welcome people with open arms when they cut a deal that wasn't accepted by our pilot group or even voted on. Also, while we're at it, what happened to voting down the merger contract? That's all you legacy guys were spewing before the vote, but wound up caving after a meeting with the company goons. You got scared and rolled over, which is exactly what I see happening when the whip saw comes. Just like your retort here cola boy, you legacy guys are nothing but hot air and no substance!

I think it is time for new union leadership here at ATI. Are the current leaders the ones you want negotiating for your future when the whip saw comes? Is this leadership going to thank Hete when he gives all the Amazon flying to ABX? I for one do welcome all the potential new hires, even if I think they would be crazy to come here, because this gene pool needs some chlorine!

If you think I'm fun to fly with, you should take a line check with me.

Just telling it like it is. If you can't stand the heat then stay out of the kitchen!
