If you were the general contractor of a construction job and one of your sub contractors was having labor issues that would jeopardize your entire project don't you think you would have a little meeting with the management of that sub contractor and possibly put some pressure on them to settle their differences? Also if you are looking to subcontract an airline to carry your cargo (Amazon) don't you think you would question them about their labor issues?

We are contractors and if we become too expensive for the entity contracting us (DHL or Amazon) they will find a lower cost alternative.
Now before you start to rant about how they isn't enough lift to replace a contractor, both DHL and especially Amazon have enough money to fund a low cost airline like Florida West and quickly ramp up their size to fit the need.

Comparing us to a regional flying for a major is a joke. We fly 747's to every continent and crap location possible. Glad to see you value your services so low. Don't compare the business model to fedex/ups, compare what we fly and the extra 8000 things we do daily that they don't have to. We are not only peers with FedEx/UPS, I think we do more challenging flying and deserve to be compensated more!
If you seriously think FW can ramp up 40 767's in a year for Amazon you're smoking some good stuff! Atlas can't even staff our 20 coming most likely.

No, because pilots at airlines in our segment of the industry think we are peers with FedEx and UPS. We are not. Our business model is totally different and to think that we are the same is like a regional thinking they are the same as a pax legacy because they carry legacy ticketed passengers.

If DHL and especially Amazon want a low cost airline, why didn't they start one? What they want is a quality product, a reliable product. And these things have a price.
