Best headset for 767?
Hey all,
It's about time to get a new headset, and I was wondering what people thought that the best headset for flying the 767 freighter (both -200 and -300) was? I was looking into a Clarity Aloft set. I've heard both good and bad things. Any insight would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers.

You may be in a quiet airplane now, but after a few maintenance checks, the insulation may be accidentally left out and you're now flying a very noisy airplane.
I love my Lightspeed Zulu. True high fidelity. Great sound, especially the blue tooth music feature. I know many folks that have turned in their Bose for the Lightspeed.

I tried the Clarity Aloft and didn't care for them, so I returned them. They operated fine, but with the crossover bar behind your head, as opposed to over your head, whenever I looked up at the overhead panel, the bar would hit my collar and push the microphone out of position. I never realized how often I looked up, until I had to readjust my mic a hundred times per flight. JMO...

I've used Clarity Aloft with custom ear molds for many years now. I've used them in various Boeing aircraft(both pax and freighter), but not the 767. They work great for me. No batteries to change, no worries about batteries dying(such as the Bose QC series which when the battery dies the headset quits working and you can't hear ATC), no clamp on your head, etc..
FWIW, I use a 15 year old Bose X in GA airplanes. They are too large to carry to work, and I don't want to wear them for 8 hours at a stretch either.
For custom ear molds, I use Avery Sound.

That was a consideration for me in my choice. Will it blend in with the company provided headsets? The company provides telex 750 so I avoided the telex 850 and the clarity aloft. One looked the same as the companies and the other just blended into the background to much. The green DC is harder to miss.
