Swift Air - The truth
#1361
I was talking to a mentor of mine, now retired. Discussing the safety problems with Swift, he recalls an old FAA investigative strategy. He recalls that when a company had so many violations, operational issues, hot line complaints, NASA reports, all the problems we seem unable to solve, they took action.
The FAA would put together an Inspector team. Ops, Training, dispatch, maintenance, Avionics, Cabin Safety, Crew scheduling, each area of oversight. Go through the records to see where the structural problems are. Then take the necessary actions to correct the problems.
My recommendation to iAero, is to put together an outside group of people to do what the FAA no longer does. As someone else said on this forum, the 119's can't seem to convince the executive managers that we are going in the wrong direction.
Before we come back to normal operations, significant changes are needed.

Not a single airline right now would do something like this. You are pretending you are in some sort of dream scenario. When you have less disposable funds it is not the right time to do something like this.

The FAA is also not out to make any waves especially in this economy where such an action against a struggling airline would be considered “political”.
Scumbag owners are known to get political influence.
So back to square one...waiting for a smoking hole.

There is corruption in most airlines. Heck, corruption in most companies. Do you really believe most companies would invest resources into independent audits at a time like this? You are too smart to actually believe that.
