then return to the stay in Mexico policy. Saying you don’t like it is lip service. Fix it, otherwise the reality is you support it exactly as is.

you're saying they aren’t flying plane loads of illegals all over the country at night rather than ship them back or do the stay in Mexico policy?

See... What that red skullcap you wear is blocking you from being aware of is that the remain in Mexico policy was reinstituted in December 2021. What they can't do (and didn't do with the last administration either) was send illegals back who had ALREADY crossed the border into the US to wait at a port of entry. Remain in Mexico applied to those who had not yet crossed the border but we're attempting to. Surely this will fall on deaf ears, though, so I'll end it at that.

might want to actually research how it worked under Trump BEFORE throwing stones next time, since every news article on the subject under a Google search says you’re wrong. They routinely returned people across the border back to Mexico. The only asylum seekers allowed to remain were actual Mexicans. Anybody who fled a country, then passed through another country where they were no longer in danger from those they sought asylum for were returned to Mexico to await hearings.

here, this might help you

I got the phone call with 1700 TT and an ATP. But reading through the first pages of this thread wasn't very reassuring. Have things improved?

The 737 type seems like a great stepping stone to the major/ULCCs that I'm looking at, which is my goal, but I have a feeling I'll be able to get there directly if I sit in my 135 job a little longer. iAero Pay seems "good", at least it would be a step up for me, but the 18 on/12off, scheduling nightmare stories, and 3-4 year CA home base seniority times seem like deal breakers. On the other hand, government contracted flights seem like a positive, if the future reality where most regionals implode becomes true.

The most junior homebased captain, as of today, Is a Nov 2020 hire. Be smart with how you bid and what base you choose and you won’t end up with 18 days at the end of one month and 18 at the beginning of the next month.

new hires are getting Home based right out of class right now. There is talk of going to rotation schedules (7&7, 8&6, 11&10) in August if staffing levels permit

I posted a while back about AEX, but was looking for some updates since the world seems to be going back to normal. Is this still a junior base? I currently live close by and would be looking to stay there indefinitely. So it seems 18/12 seems to be the standard schedule. In a base such as AEX with the government contract flying, would you be actually working/flying all 18 of those days? Or would some of them just be on call? How many hours are guys averaging a month? What are upgrade times averaging currently?

You will get some reserve days mixed in there
