Just Turned Down The Interview......Why?
Be aware....They do not just want you to fly the DC-9....They want you to LOAD AND UNLOAD IT.....With NO EXTRA COMPENSATION....
So Be aware...you will not only be a pilot....You WILL be a Cargo Handler also.....
Not Interested.

The extra compensation: you keep your job
Did you do any research before you applied?
You know the alternative to a job in this segment of the cargo industry is usually swinging gear at a regional.
Ask some of the folks at Pinnacle how awesome their over-guarantee checks have been lately. And what's upgrade time at Eagle nowadays?
No, you won't stay in a Netjets $189/night hotel on overnights, get UPS catering, or ride a Fedex limo to work. Hopefully this isn't news to you.
Forget the new rest rules. Freight pilots don't get tired. Do more with less. Fly 8 in 16. No, it's not a CDO, a stand-up, or any other ***** term you can come up with. It's just a day at work. If your day starts at 5 pm and ends at 9 am, you don't get a medal. You drink some beer and eat some eggs and go to sleep. Because that's a perfectly normal thing to do at 9 am. Then wait for the phone to ring so you can do it again.
So, you might have to push some freight, actually do a weight & balance longhand every once in a while, and file your own flight plans. Do you even know how to cancel on the ground after the tower closes?
Shirley you can't be serious.

USA Jet is a tough decision, no doubt. For anyone who already has a job and a seniority number at a regional it is hard to give up the "cushy airline job" with the union contract for a On Demand/Non-Schedule. You think reserve at a regional is bad? Whitlow does not apply here. For me, I would clean toilets in the airplane if it meant a quick upgrade. I want to work at the least desirable airline possible until I make my final move to my retirement job. The less desirable, the quicker people move on once they get their time. At a regional, too many captains get comfortable and never leave.
