I can get the left seat at Xtra and be based in FL. SWA is ten years to the left seat and you'd have to commute for a long time as a junior FO and then Capt. At my age its just not doable anymore. I love SWA but it's just not for me. I have written them thanking them for the interview.
Does this suit you Oooo?

I can see your point Braniff but a 2nd yr FO who could he based in FL within months of training will make more than a cpt at xtra ever will. This includes the B fund and profit sharing. Just in pay alone it would be close. Combine this with the fact that Xtra moves it's bases around constantly and senority means nothing I find this a hard sale that Xtra would be a better fit.
To each their own and I'm glad you found a place after a long search I can only postulate.

Ok, firstly, points taken however, no junior FOs (new hires) are holding FL at SWA. MCO, the only FL base, is senior. IF, and a big IF, FLL opens, it may or may not go senior. Personal opinion, it will! Captain in FL at SWA, 15+ years.
Secondly, you must spell correctly to be taken seriously.
Thirdly, Oooo you make posts but no one knows anything about you. Hoover, apologies but you write as though you work at Xtra but also SWA. I am confused as I read a lot of your posts but if you've moved on from Xtra onto SWA, are you really still that bitter? Let it go brother!
For the record, I have NOT aacepted a position at Xtra nor have I interviewed at SWA.
This is just an information seeking excercise.
Thanks again.

Well I was trying to give some info. I used to work at Xtra. I now work at SW. I can hold MCO after 3 months at SW. FLL might open up, nothing official. Who knows how it will go as far as seniority.
I'm not bitter about Xtra I just don't agree it's a better place to work.

Ok, I guess I was wrong about FL bases and SWA which is awesome for you or new hires hoover. I have to say though that it seems things have improved at Xtra. Mike seems like a good guy and they have some pretty decent expansion plans. Sometimes things improve at these carriers which Oooo hates because he's at THEE best place ever. He has time to crap on everyone else. He must be a great guy to fly with. I'm glad I do not cause I'd smack the farshizzle out of him.
