I got hired into the pool 10/2012 just after Comair circled the drain. I got a packet to bring with me to class...whenever that happened, then a 'welcome aboard' email stating I had a year to tread water. Well, they convened a small class of 76&77 guys 3/13, only to furlough 5/13. Thankfully, those that wanted it took the call-back. The rest of us in the pool were left dangling in the breeze. I NEVER received another communication from OAL saying we were extended through he furlough, or, you're released...nothing.
Thankfully, I got a WIA grant and an A320 Type & a call from G4, where I subsequently upgraded in 10 months. Thank you, Omni, I think you did me a great favor!!

Ha! Funny post...

I just decided to leave retirement and go back to work for a few more years. Been thinking about Omni where many of my friends now work after our airline home of many years evaporated. Good for you. You never know which way your airline fortunes will take you along the way. Frankly, checking out in the left seat only means something if you get paid to sit there, otherwise it's just the largest liability in you'll ever have in your life.

There is a balance of folks who were offered positions last year, but not given class dates due to some delay. No word yet on classes for them ... Feb maybe? As for hiring ... probably not until the "pool" is clearing out.

Airspeed Unreliable (thru step 4)
APU Fire (1st step)
Cabin Altitude or Rapid Depressation (all)
Duel Engine Fire (thru step 5)
Engine Fire or Engine Severe Damage or Seperation (thru step 5)
Engine Limit or Surge or Stall (thru step 2)
Engine Tailpipe Fire (1st step)
