Well, it could be career suicide (doubtful) . . . but for where I am in my life, where this airline "could go and based on where they are now", I told other 121's out there that have offered me a job, no thank you. I'm really excited about Via! I figured if I was going to ride a wave, it might as well be at a home based 121. First round of drinks are on me! Thanks Walker and the many other Via'ers out there.

Yep, Austin will be growing. More airframes (E145’s) in the pipeline and for folks with sufficient 121 or E145 time they’re still hiring street captains.
For low time guys you can go on the 135 side in the E120 and build your 1500 hours then slide over to the 121 side. They just graduated 4 new 135 Pilots and 4 121 Pilots are in Sim now. Next 121 class is January.
No ready reserve airport standby
No short call without a provided hotel
Long call from Home
Home based with ticketed travel to/from work
Crew cars in training
Single occupancy training hotel (Sheraton)
Crew cars on most overnights
Pilots keep hotel points at many hotels
Salary pay with no cancellation penalties
Per diem $40 per RON night
Free iPads and backup battery
Optional Pops leather jacket 1/2 paid by company
Great management team that wants everybody to succeed together. Lots of experienced folks in mid and upper management choosing to be here that could easily be at Delta-AA-United tomorrow if they wanted to.
Could things go south? Sure. It could also be like jetblue was in 2000, a great 121 startup to be at.
