Next month I am scheduled for 12 days on the road and an additional 4 on reserve. The FO's are not as happy with their scheduling as the Captains. Unfortunately the company hasnt learned that we are not competitive for FO's on pay or benefits. Their stance is still that home basing is worth $10k a year.

My concern is that they will find more flying for us to do and won't staff up for it preemptively.

And leave the company in a state of perpetual understaffing? Nahhhhhhhhhh.

I'm happy it is getting better for you guys though!

I have 121 experience and just put an app on your website. Wanted to get some more input about the company and bases as new hire and how many hours you fly per month. Also if anyone can give some info on the interview process if called.

The interview process was interesting to say the least. I submitted a resume as I am captain qualified with time in the ERJ. Floris Johnson from HR contacted me the next day and requested to set up a Skype interview later in that afternoon. I told her I was flying and wouldn't be available until the middle of next week and asked if I could do it then. I never heard from her until one day the middle of that next week asking if I could do the interview the next day. I said absolutely and scheduled a time. I was ready to go at the agreed upon time but nothing happened, so after 30 minutes I emailed and called Floris. The interview was suppose to be with Matt Macri, VP of Operations. She did call me back after about an hour and told me Matt was busy and wanted to reschedule the interview later that afternoon to which I agreed. About an hour prior to the re-scheduled time I received a VM from Matt asking me to call him right away. I did call and had about a 15-20 minute phone conversation with him, a get-to-know you type of call. He told me to standby as he wanted to proceed with the Skype interview but he didn't have time that day. I never did the Skype interview or anything else and about 3 days later received a job offer for a captain's position. I ended up declining the position mostly because I could never get anyone to respond back to me as I had a fair amount of questions to ask, especially since I never really was interviewed.

I think with the home basing and what they are trying to do along with the information the VP of Ops told me, VIA could be a great opportunity for the right person. The problem they will have are the quick upgrades and flow programs that most regionals have right now, some of those are tough to beat!

I can say that the interview process here is extremely informal. It was the same under the old DO and HR as well. Floris is a detriment to recruiting atbthis company. I do her job more than she does on that aspect.

It really could be an awesome place. And it will be eventually, but they have some room for improvement for now. As they say "Rome wasn't built in a day".

I would say the biggest issue right now is fixing the pay and benefits. We aren't really competitive for FO's at our current compensation. And there is no defined pay scale. We all got raises at 1 year, but we have no idea what it will be next year.

Is there still no pay or per diem during training? Saw that in an older post and wondered if it's still true

To be honest I am not 100% sure. I heard they were paying something during training, but not sure how much.

I was told $100/day for training but didn't get the chance to ask when they consider training over.

Hoping for the best for the HQ folks in Maitland. Irma is rolling thru the area now.
