I would say the profile should be moved to charter. Via is most definitely not a regional carrier. We may have some scheduled routes, but we are still a Supplemental operator. The company is closer to Xtra or Swift with smaller planes than they are to an XJT or Trans States.

I "interviewed" with Via Air today at a job fair in Austin. Seems like a pretty good operation that is having some growing pains, and moving from a small outfit, to a medium sized company in the next few years. They had no pilot representative for me to talk with, but I did chat with HR and Ground Ops while I was there. I had tons of questions for them, and unfortunately they really couldnt answer a lot of them. If someone has some insight, I'd LOVE to pick your brain. I'm very much considering going to work for them (if offered a job), but do wonder about pay, QoL, routes, perks, advancement, ect. Being home based would/could/should be a dream job!!!! Please feel to PM if you have information. I'd like to have a answer for them this week if possible (I have two other job offers on the table right now). Thank you all.

Thank you for answering my questions . . . I really do appreciate it. I am VERY torn . .I've got a job offer at Enoy and Spirit. And I "think" I have a job in January if I want it at Via. I'm very torn . .Envoy, stable company, been around a long time . . . might get a flow to AAG in 6 to 8 years. QOL could be questionable. Spirit . .well, tough, tough tough training . .4 sims! 10% washout. . . that's on the old resume for the rest of your life! Then there is Via-Air. . . a bit of a gamble as they are a new 121 . . and doing new routes out of AUS. There is no seniority system and there are LOTS more questions on the operation than anyone can tell me answers on. But the QOL is/could be really good. I could be doing day trips and sleeping in my own bed nearly every night. The long term pay is not real good . . . but I've heard it "could" get better. UGH!!!! Not sure what to do . . but I've GOT to make a decision fast. Anyone have some insight they'd care to share?

Envoy, with flow to AA, is a great option. If you have to commute, it may not be an easy decision.
If Spirit can vote in a new contract with pay, that's the second best option.
But that's me, not you. Only you can decide what's best for you. Good luck, and I hope it works out for the best!

However personally I would jump on Spirit. You will be making what a capt makes at the other places year 2. Not to mention they are in negotiations for a better contract now. The big reason I like this choice is for the bird. An Airbus type will be gold for your resume. How many companies fly these?! Think this would be the biggest leap for your career.
Best of luck to you for whatever you choose. They are all good options so don’t think you can really go wrong. Let us know what you decide.
