Anyone know if C5 permits the "junior man" rule in the contract?

No "junior man" but anyone can be "operationally extended" at the end of a trip if you are legal for it, within certain contractual limits.

Some confusion here. 30 percent has to do with current "on property pilots" transferring to the jet. (i .e. A new hire class has 10 ERJ slots, 3 slots would go to current pilots that have a transfer bid in)

Here's the thing. The company is having a hard time getting dash FOs to bid for the jet. 30% of the jet FO slots goes to current pilots. If no current pilots bid for the FO seat on the jet, the company will fill those seats with new hires.

So basically there's no way to know how many jet or Dash slots there will be until we show up Monday morning? Thanks for clarifying the 30 percent rule by the way.

You will not find out until the second week of Indoc. More than likely after you take the Indoc test. After the test, they will split you up into different classes for the rest of Indoc.

As Potato has stated, the ERJ is backed up and you will get a lot of paid vacation. If you want to get into a plane faster, go with the Dash.

That was likely true for the earlier classes, its not the case anymore. I know for a fact that more than 2 people bid the December ERJ class and did not get it. Not complaining, just stating there should only be 7 new hire ERJ spots in December according to the contact.

Pretty much, only because the company likely doesn't know what they want to do yet.

The December lines are out.

EWR D8 CA Jr Line Holder 5/15
EWR D8 FO Jr Line Holder 4/16
IAD D8 CA Jr Line Holder 2/15
IAD D8 FO Jr Line Holder 6/16
IAD RJ CA Jr Line Holder 4/16
IAD RJ FO Jr Line Holder 7/16

As awarded here are some tidbits.
The Captain side on D8 has hardly any reserve coverage.
The Captain & FO sides on ERJ have zero reserve coverage.
There are 30 ERJ CA's in the training pipeline now.
There are 51 ERJ FO's in the training pipeline now.

There are some D8 CQF that bid FO lines, then try to drop, sell the FO trips and pic up open time. CQF are listed as FO's in the bids.

We lost 10 to UAL for this bid. I count 9 quit / terminated and I know at least 1 went to DAL. So I'm not sure how we can track those leaving for CPP more accurately.

With that many folks in the pipeline for the ERJ - are they still assigning more new hires to the ERJ??? Seems like they would start pushing more newbies towards the Dash for a few classes just to even out the backlog.
