Call me stupid if you want, I don't give a crap.
Here is where you need to get your info from, not reading between the lines of internal memos or verbal carrots.

Don't get me wrong. I hope we do end up with 61 erjs.

Press Releases | CommutAir

Don't get me wrong. I hope we do end up with 61 erjs.
Great idea. Too bad we did not open an ERJ EWR base then. I don't see that on the press release page anywhere, so I guess it did not happen.

Relax gentlemen. There's nothing wrong with looking for an official source of info. If we weren't a little skeptical we'd be fools. For now, AFAIK, the 61 total erjs is based solely on the words of the CEO. I don't take him for a BS-er but I'll gladly accept anyone's direction to something that's written.

Except it's in the latest release?

He's saying that with 40 airplanes instead of 21 we would have around 340 pilots, historically.
Except for the fact that with those 21 airplanes we were flying about 13 lines of flying. In order to be fully staffed with 21 planes and even before 117 was in place, CommutAir needed around 240 pilots which we hit briefly in 2012-2013.

Hslightnin, you've been here for what? 6 months? You have no idea what you're talking about. You pointing to one press release about EWR opening but ignoring all the others about the 21 jets to replace the Dashes is strictly fear mongering. You get how the airlines work right? You need to get people to come in behind you in order to move up in seniority. In order to upgrade. In order to hold the base that you want. You're trying to stir the pot which in the end is only going to hurt yourself if you prevent people from coming here with your baseless BS. Furloughs? Lol. Since you'd rather hang out on the boards on overnights maybe you should considering painting this place as nothing but sunshine and roses. It'd be better for your career.

Nope
These needs have developed as CommutAir executes plans to triple in size over the next 2 years through the addition of 40 Embraer ERJ145 aircraft.
CommutAir will be adding 40 Embraer ERJ145 jets to its 21 turboprop Q200/300 aircraft over the next two years. This 450% capacity growth (as measured by available seat miles) is creating massive opportunities for incoming pilots, who will enjoy CommutAir’s industry-leading pay and
opportunities at CommutAir, required as it triples in size through the addition of 40 ERJ145 aircraft (over the next 2 years).
Notice a recurring theme? 40 erjs coming.

It's not all sunshine and roses either, but it is a hellofa lot better than most other regionals.

But at least every new hire class for the last couple of months has a CA coming out of it on the dash and the most JR CA on the ERJ is still in new hire training.

And that's a fact.
