Iah would be a logistical nightmare for C5 right now. We can barely operate outta ewr, and Iad effectively and it's a hop skip and a jump to our mx base in Albany....now add another base that's 1500 miles away!? Im not saying it won't ever happen, but I don't see it anytime soon. I think we have our work cut out for us just trying to get the 40 online, park the dashes, get effective/efficient mx, hire pilots, efb's, scheduling, and overall technology improvements. We get all that done, and I think MAYBE we could handle a new base. Imo, what got us in the mess we're in , was C5 bitting off way more than they could handle....adding another base, wouldn't make anything better right now.

I think adding a base like IAH that is outside of our current hub network would be better than adding another base on the east coast. It would be easier to plan since you would have a separate network with its own crew and maintenance scheduling and logistics, versus trying to mix everything together. But I agree it would be an awfully big task to handle right now. The people behind the scenes need better support and technology.

The first Dash is removed in May, so that may be the start of majority ERJ classes.

The estimated time for training is another topic that has no definite answer. If you are awarded the 145, a conservative guess would be 4-5 months before you are flying the airplane. It seems the training backlog is starting to clear up, but anything can happen. The class that started 10/31 is finally finishing up sim. The 1/30 class will have there sims finished late May or Early June. The goal for the company would be to have training completed in 2 months but it will take some time to make everything that seamless.

First D8 gets parked this month. 5th 300 gone by October. 200's start 60 days later. Training department planning to be caught up by June. That includes new hires and D8 displacements. EFB's still in planning stages. Might end up with ForeFlight or that Lufthansa deal instead if Jepps. No news on retention bonuses. Class sizes have been smaller than they anticipated. New WB system submitted to FAA. 45-60 days we should get it back.
The bigger take alway for me was IaD isn't expected to grow any more on the ERJ side. 60-65% of the ERJ hours will be out of EWR by June(I think he said)
