You really think Skywest would just give up the flying if they weren't underbid, and couldn't make money at the rates CommutAir likely underbid the RFP?

And we just hired a new Manager of Flight Operations who doesn't even have a bachelors degree....

First class operation, make no mistake.

It is my understanding that UAL has 85 airframes that either have already expired contracts or are ending over the next year or two.
If my information is correct no other operator has bid to operate them.
The airline or airlines that flew/are flying them, for whatever reasons, are not trying to renew the flying.
If Skywest has made a decision to walk away from this flying it can't be construed as underbidding.

LOL

In the memo it mentioned he was still working on his bachelors. Sounds like he will be 100% dedicated to his job duties! This is just one of the small examples of C5

Maybe it means that UAL wasn't willing to pay enough for the flying to be profitable?

In that case, its not underbidding which cause it.

Profitable enough for a company that has better pay, benefits, and work rules than CommutAir...

Fact is they could take it or leave it....but i guess SKW chose to leave it since it ain't profitable enough

If what MaxQ says is accurate then it only means they choose to not want it, no one snatch it from under their nose

Having a bachelor's degree is an arbitrary checkbox. Personal ambition , knowledge, and intellect can be acquired outside of the classroom. Having a degree allows HR to easily generalize skills and whittle down candidates.

It's comical to what lengths you'll defend commutair. I'm sorry, but an upper level manager should have a degree.
