Let's expand a bit.
Dropped for IOE - airport reserve
Flight/turn canceled - airport reserve
Out of base and flight canceled - airport reserve
Block or better - per day not leg
Won't answer your phone - fine we won't send the release
MX - how do I check the oil in this thing?(No joke)
No transparency on seniority issues. They removed the ability to see who is flying for the day.
Reserves aren't assigned trips. A open time trip will be split up. I had 3 FO swaps in 3 legs last week.
Paychecks aren't accurate if anything abnormal happens. I.e. Every check.
Now my biggest gripe. We are still using PAPER Charts!!!!!
For me it was the right choice to come here. I'm about 40% seniority. Line holding captain on the Jet.
I need people to keep coming just like the rest of us. But I can no longer recommend it.
If being honest and not greedy makes me entitled, then I guess I'm entitled.

If your first two flights in the day cancelled don't you expect to wait at the airport for your next assignment?
"Out of base and flight canceled - airport reserve" that's just BS, and your desperate attempt to bad mouth the company. Every crew who are out of base gets a hotel.
"Block or better - per day not leg" it is leg by leg!
I don't know how you expect dispatch to release a flight if scheduling doesn't know if you showed up to work.
How about you become a MX and fix all the airplanes yourself?
"No transparency on seniority issues. They removed the ability to see who is flying for the day". first of all you weren't supposed to have access to that. be glad someone put their job on the line to give you that access, snowflake.
Yea i'm done.

Has anyone said anything that isn't true?? Nope. Talk to a recruiter...good one!!! That's as useful as talk to a car salesman. I know a very recent case where our recruiters told someone they will upgrade on the 145 during training, and yet at the same time the CP is sending out messages saying upgrades are rescinded. So before you accuse us of lies, go look at your recruiters.

It's leg by leg as far as I know.
Is that really your retort?? Your answer to our mx not knowing how to fix our airplanes is for us to become mechanics? I don't even need to say anything else to that. You've said enough.
Again, other airlines have this, but you wouldn't know anything about that.

Here are a couple other lovely little nuggets...
Reserve? Airport Standby only. The company won't even entertain the notion of short call. The only airline I know of that operates this way. Short call would allow the company to have you available an additional four hours of duty, yet they insist on keeping you at the airport. And no hotels provided. The six you get for commuting? Ha. You can ONLY use those on the beginning and end. Way to keep morale low! Other than that, there are pretty much zero reserve rules other than being released by 7pm last day... which they will try and violate.
Hub sits. The company can, and will, schedule you to sit for 5, 6, 7, and I have even seen 8 hours in a hub. No day room. I heard someone sat 8 hours this week. Day rooms are in outstations only.
But we're just entitled. It's about getting the job done.

Hahaha snowflake you are too funny, commuter rooms are ONLY on the first and last day of a trip. The company never hid that fact, the contract clearly states that. So your point is?

Right, it's happened. But you've also probably been assigned airport reserve. Point is, it shouldn't EVER happen. I've been put on airport reserve. You should be a LINE HOLDER. Not a reservist. The fact that you don't get that makes me believe you have not worked at other 121 airlines, and/or don't care about industry standard practices.
NO!!! I expect to be notified as soon as practical and have my assignment adjusted, or my report time adjusted! This benefits me AND the company by not starting my 117 clock. Again, the fact that you think this is okay shows you know nothing about how industry standard practices work.
I have been here over two years and have never seen a crew on airport reserve at an outstation, but out of domicile, YES. EWR crews sit airport reserve in IAD, and vice versa when things cancel. Happens all the time.
It's leg by leg as far as I know.

There are other things you can do to improve your QoL besides complain on an internet board. Go ask your union what is being done to improve your grievances. Better yet, go volunteer so you can make a difference.

If you are not cut out for some of the worst work rules in the industry, constant abuse from scheduling, an airline that clearly has no idea how to grow efficiently, and work with people like you (who are clueless), than you shouldn't work here.
In other words, SKNPilot recommends any other regional airline if you don't like the atrocious contract we have.
Thanks!

If you guys don't like it, leave. I am tired of people complaining. Would you rather have the best contract and be shut down or accept minor inconveniences in exchange for a future? This is the regionals, not Legacy Warmup Airline; cheapest bidder wins.

For someone like me, it was better when we started and we are hoping it gets better in the future. Two years buys you a lot of seniority here at the moment, so leaving would be stupid. And of course many of us are trying leave. Just not to other regionals.
Others are trying to leave but haven't finished training, so they can't, because that looks bad on PRIA. Others owe money from the sign on bonus and might be waiting until one year is up.
As far as "Would you rather have the best contract and be shut down or accept minor inconveniences in exchange for a future?"....
Please. How about an average contract???? That would be a nice start. No one is asking for $150,000 and 18 days off. People want to not be extended 14 times a year. People want a duty rig so they are actually paid for a seven hour airport sit.
I'm tired of people at this airline thinking if you get a good contract you'll suddenly end up as Comair. It just shows ignorance.

Haha. I proved a point? I'm so awesome. complaining don't change anything snowflake, did you sign up to be MEC Chairman? that's a good start for you to change the contract to benefit you.

What are some facts on why someone should come here now vs going to Endeavor, PSA, PDT, or Envoy?
