The same day the majority of the FOs take that groovy $16 pay cut. I hear they are going to announce it simultaneously warning other UAX carries to get on board with concessions down to the C5 standard, or face the same chopping block as XJT. On a side note, I bet those CAs who were against keeping the higher pay for FOs are now regretting those sentiments as they face them awesome downgrades.

C'mon now. There weren't any captain that were against the higher pay rate for FOs. That's a silly, uninformed comment you made. I will tell you that anyone who opposed the extension of the LOA did so because they would rather have seen those pay rates put into a five year contract, along with higher captain pay rates to replace the retention bonus. It sucks that covid took away our negotiating capital for those higher rates and now we are hoping to even stay in business.

wishfull thinking but the other UAX carriers offer a fee for departure. United could care less about others labor rates as they pay then a set fee. They care about ExpressJet and comutair because they are paying for the losses. United doesn’t care if Air Wisconsin or Skywest loses money on a flight because it’s not United’s money.

Nope. Unless it’s way under the table.

EV and C5 also operate under capacity purchase agreements. United owns a portion of both just like they own some RJET stock. The details of those agreements are a closely held secret but the business relationships are similar between all the FFD.

United doesn't pay the payroll at EV or C5. They pay the negotiated block hour rate and expenses like fuel (same as they do for the rest of the regional stable). The block hour rate is what they want lower. Perhaps C5 can accept less without reducing compensation costs. Perhaps EV can as well but Subodh wants his money. Who knows since we don't have access to the financials.

I agree with you CDC gives numbers, I can only go off those numbers for the data today and immediate future. The CDC gives numbers and talks out both sides of their mouths I agree with mostly everyone is saying. This is why I stated in one of my previous post it will awhile before we get the actual or real data. I personally don’t think the virus on a medical mortality rate is that bad. Information in science and medicine are given, we take that information and use it the time until more data is collected. Pluto used to be a planet, information was given and it was accepted even when there were doubts. I taught Pluto was a planet until more data came out and it was scientifically redefined as not being a planet.

With that being said I do agree with most comments given back to me and I think the virus is overblown I had it. I’m part of the 98% percent that lives from this perceived “deadly” disease. The CDC are experts and like I said the problem is that they don’t know the long term effects of this virus is one of the major issues. More data is needed but we can only go off what have for now.

Looks like OP spoke too soon. Commut lives, Expressjet dies.

"ExpressJetters,

As you may be aware, United made a strategic decision to retain only one ERJ145 United Express operator for 2021 and beyond. Unfortunately, we have just been told that United intends to go forward with CommutAir as its sole operator of the ERJ145 in 2021.

Subodh"

Dude not cool,

I would never hope this for an enemy much less a fellow airline pilot. My hope is Xjet some how gets 175 flying or something. This is just a crappy day all around for any airline pilot.

In my heart I hope we can all keep paying our bills and flying.

Shalom
