They had 175 flying. Unfortunately that got pulled out from them pre-Covid. While it would have meant they would still be operating, it would resulted in the furlough of pretty much the entire company still. 25 planes is smaller than C5. Hopefully C5 can do right by the XJT and get as many of them back in the cockpit as soon as possible.

The company has already said they will be doing pref interviews if this outcome resulted last week. I hope we can get as many ppl as possible over here. Best wishes to all.

We may not be hiring now, but I think the Union should put in a clause like United's regarding ALPA pilots on furlough/worked for an ALPA carrier that went out of business. Time to think long term and show some solidarity with our fellow pilots on the street and thank those who took a bullet for us.

I think Commutair has to honour the jobs it offered to prople pre COVID first.

Commutair will have to hire furloughed United pilots first. And yes, they may hire sooner than the rest because of the loss of so much lift from ExpressJet.

I’m pretty sure that is standard boilerplate language in every ALPA contract.

Section 1-C-1-j and LOA 12-09 in the UPA explicitly says that this hire clause only applies to Express carriers operating aircraft with more than 50 seats.
