I mean sure, that mainline guy isn’t at risk of not getting a CJO at United if he doesn’t make it to work. The C5 guy is.

Commuting is a choice, live in base Enough said. I commuted for 12yrs as a RJ pilot. Never had a miss trip/commuter clause drop. Always made sure I had plenty of options
Endeavor has positive space commuting no issues there. It’s a great tool to attract for a bit of peace of mind Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

It's pretty iron clad because it's in the contract (and they actually follow the contract over there). Why do it that way? Because bumping that one passenger might mean that 76 others on the commuting pilot's assigned flight will get where they need to go on time.

Is positive space actually in the Endeavor contract or is it just on the same LOA that DL mainline got that has an expiration date?

United fought with us tooth and nail for positive space travel so instead you get set amount of money per line to commute in. Similar to how atlas does it and FedEx.

Atlas pilots don't get a "set amount" of money per line to commute. I've had them pay close to $1200 for a last minute first class 90 minute flight from my gateway to my base. We're also not positive space, but full revenue, and are contractually entitled to earn whatever miles and status are offered. I'm not sure if the big U gives miles for PS nowadays, since they didn't when I was at a UAX carrier years ago.
We also collect the status and miles. Just set money per month per line. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
