As it stands that’s close to 50 FOs on reserve.

We also haven’t received the bid packet yet though so it could change maybe?
Same story on the CA side

And to think a few months ago I was happily saying I can’t wait to get a line as a CA, around October hahaha

I’ve been here 30 months and have spent 20 of them on reserve, I must be doing something wrong

I think the fickle filler of fate gave you the finger. Since getting off IOE in June.2018, I have been on reserve a total of 12 days.

Absent the present unpleasantness (and losing some block hours to weather, recurrency training, and other people’s IOE buy-outs) I would have been looking at upgrade next bid. But that’s OK, I already have near-DEC hours and will soon have DEC hours. Even worst case I have a type rating and nearly 1000 hrs of 121 time I didn’t have 18 months on my resume.

But yeah, ‘Hawk, your timing was certainly suboptimal. Hope you are luckier at your next place.

Lots of unknowns, but I'd imagine upgrading and getting at least some 121 TPIC is a good thing. I'll find out soon enough

MW did say upgrades are going to continue for the rest of the year as planned, so that’s good news. The only question would be how much flying junior CAs will see as the aircraft leave. Hopefully there is an announcement of replacement flying in the very near term. Hoping for the best...planning for the worst.

Gonna risk it and upgrade in September. Fingers crossed for "big news on Friday" soon. Worst case the 100 hours consolidation is probably better than more fo time when trying to jump ship, right guys? Right?

Nobody in the industry is going to hold it against you if the place you are working folds before you get the experience out of it you’d like to have gotten because it’s happened to too many others before you and it WILL happen to too many others after you.

And yeah, having once successfully upgraded to captain is not anything anyone is going to hold against you. And ANY 121 TPIC is generally going to trump that many more hours of 121 TSIC.
