I wish we could reach out to them to ask questions. Every day silence is getting rough. Even a memo keeping us in the loop that they are in the office would help at this point

I'm in full on panic mode at this point

Put apps out. You now have a type rating and a proven record of 121 flying. You are a far more marketable commodity today than you were a year ago. Line up a class somewhere else you’d like to work three to six months out. Ride THIS horse as long as it is going in a direction you want to go and if it stops contributing to your career progression - bail. If you can wait out a year from hire you can transfer longevity for pay purpose to OO or a couple of other regionals. But even if you can’t, your ATP, type-rating, and the 121 hours you have flown will go with you, they don’t evaporate. If you can make it to 950 121 SIC you can be a DEC at several places with large bonuses on day one. If not you can still get signing bonuses and a type-rating bonus. Compass has been good and I’ve enjoyed it and if they can come up with more flying to replace the Delta flying I’d be glad to stay here awhile longer, but it never was my career destination. Panic mode isn’t helpful. Start researching and applying to your other options. |

Thanks for the words of wisdom. I do have apps out and interviews lined up. Have greatly enjoyed my short time here as well and will be riding this baby til it dies most likely. I am more concerned than panicked I suppose. Whatever the future has it's out of my hands so just going with the flow! Fingers crossed for something coming thru the pipeline.

I wouldn't be too panicked.. There's lots of options out there. I mean it sucks not having a game plane announced and we deserve to know. But if the majors who are ALPA step in to help give us some preference, that would be pretty fantastic. But if your just starting out, it would be more frustrating

As a cjo new hire I am doubling down optimistically planning on my class/start in a few months. Exploring options but none of those would hit until the new year / winter or have my existing pt135 gig. Being on the sidelines since 98 when I graduated with degree/ratings - I didnt go into aviation professionally as it was a terrible time to be a pilot. Just kept touch with aviation, flying privately, adding ratings and plane ownership. Now times are better than ever and no matter where we go it's still aviation and highly volatile. No panic just make the next best decision as information presents itself. Always have options no matter what career one is in.

Hmm Or Anglicized; maskirovka Next thing you know they will be meaconing us. Naw, just kidding. They do seem to be covering their bases, just like many of us are doing. My guess is there’s some arm wrestling going on right now over 60 United 175s. But that’s only a guess. And who will WIN that arm wrestling, if it is occurring, is anyone’s guess. |
