How far out should one consider applying? I'm getting close to hitting ATP mins and flying a lot. I'd like to get through the application and interview process before hitting the magic number. Is there any benefit to doing it early? Earlier class date maybe?

From the latest comply publications...
- pilots used EarPods while on duty in uniform from morning van time to check out time, including while interacting with gate agents and crewmembers, even after repeatedly missing communications. - pilots, while being observed by the FAA jumpseater, decided to pushback before doing the before start check, electing to complete it during pushback roll. Do we really have pilots working at this company that are this level of stupid? |

The earpod thing completely baffled me. The level of toolishness it takes to pull that off is nothing short of miraculous.

I wouldn't have believed it if I hadn't seen this in person the other day. Earpods AND sunglasses on inside the terminal.

There’s times when the earbuds may be acceptable, like watching a movie on a DH. While you’re walking around the airport in uniform, especially with your crew, take them off. Also, didn’t Mom teach you not to wear your sunglasses inside? |
There's a few here that are notorious for having ear buds in at all times. And if their name is known here then I'm sure it's at least talked about elsewhere including mainline. I get the whole "I want to talk to my wife and kids whenever I can" but while walking with a crew to an airplane it just looks not only unprofessional but if I was a nervous flyer I'd assume that captain didn't take the job seriously and would get anxious. It's a hot topic though, there's a whole thread on it on the majors forum and some people defend it. Times are changing I guess.

Has anyone referred an employee successfully? Can you PM me? I was gonna study the referral bonus manual on my sit in the terminal the other day but I listened to drake on my earbuds whilst in uniform instead. No but seriously throw me a bone and shoot me a PM.
