Obviously you need to read a few pages back. What I said is likely, is UAL will make a deal with its pilots to address their concerns on widebodies, give them furlough protection through a flow down, and a Billion dollars in increased pay and retirement incentives. In exchange UAL will get relaxed scope and a flow up. Most likely the flow up/down will be at Mana Air, and all the increase in large RJs will be there, and Mana Air will start aquiring other regionals besides Expressjet. You will see most of UALs regional flying move to Mana Air.
Are you DoSomePilotStuf on the ExpressJet forums?
Very similar types of posts. I don't think you're too off on things but think the leverage comes from the top with the widebodies. Just don't see these 550's being much if any leverage on UAL pilots.
With the hiring and current good economy it may be difficult to convince the junior pilots they need furlough protections. How does UAL make that argument?
I know a recession happens every 10 years or so and we're due but "out of sight and out of mind" you know?
