If your prior airline didn't take you out of CASS and you didn't turn in your ID, don't you technically still have CASS for an airline you no longer work for...

New hires are not provided a hotel, you are on your own. Wonderful right?

More affirmation as to why there is no "pilot shortage" - regardless of what Darby says.

98% of the new hires are side stepping from a previous Part 121 carrier. The rest are 135 guys and other random commercial/charter jobs.

This proves nothing other than the vast majority of the new hires are sick of their old airlines and find themselves either about to get furloughed or don't see upgrades for another decade (that's after being stuck as an FO for the last 4-7 years at previous carriers).

You can restate your post when 100% of the new hires are CFIs right out of teaching at flight schools and FBOs. What's happening now is just a shift...not a new generation of pilots.

That's 100% false. Five CFIs I worked with having 1200-1500 total just recently got picked up. In addition, those people in their interviews were a majority CFI. Don't forget that the lack of CFIs in hiring classes is mostly due to the new ATP requirement. The ones with higher time were picked up before mins started going up while the others have been chasing the rising mins. Those that were chasing are finally reaching ATP mins.

That is the case now that the pool is drained but 99% of the hires in the past year and a half have been from either the military or another regional, safe to say 95% of that is Pinnacle. I saw the list of poolies months ago and I saw only a handful UND cfis on there the rest were 121, 135 or Mil. My interview had no CFIs. 121 or Mil only. Do you work at CP?

BTW CPZ has always had mins at or above ATP mins

Lab Rats point was that there is still a perpetual amount of pilots willing to accept awful compensation and work rules at regionals like Compass. What other profession would you not be provided a hotel during training? IMHO the only thing going for Compass is the quick attrition. The contract is not great at all. Trans States Holdings is running the game. I have little hope for any improvements in the next contract. 75% of the pilot group will be at Delta soon anyways, why would they care about fighting for a industry leading contract?
