Compass updates

Nothing so far, details about the Delta TA should start coming out once the union gets it out to the pilots to read and starts road shows. Should be interesting.

I've been viewing this thread for awhile now and know several places have been mentioned before but was looking for some updated information in regards to places to stay while in training....
Driving to training is out of the question as I live way to far away. With that said I have no forum of transportation while there. So I was thinking a hotel room, maybe shared with a classmate, will be the best way to go but other options are not out of the question. I know the Country inn and suites had been mentioned awhile back with a rate of $50 but after contacting them they informed me the rate had been increased about 9 months ago to $68. Does anyone else have any suggestions on another decent Hotel or option? Also does the training last around 4 weeks? Assuming that there is two weeks of ground and two weeks of sim? Thanks for any help!

Plan on roughly 6 weeks. Training has 2 weeks of classroom, 1 week of procedures, and 2 weeks of sim, then add a few days for the PIC add-on. Days off and on don't often coincide with weeks/weekends.

FWIW A check airman today told me CP is startin to hire a pool of 110 new guys. No class dates yet though. Can anyone confirm? 110 would be right for amount of people to replace flow guys for a year, but sounds like an awfully big pool, it would take 5-6 months from when people start flowing for some of those to gets class dates I would think.

I was hired about a month ago and got a class date for a couple weeks from now... From HR/the hiring staff... They are continuing to hire into a pool. The last class date as of now is scheduled to start July 12th. They are continuing to interview, at a slower pace than before, to build a pool of 110 pilots to draw from for future flows to Delta which management told me they felt was going to occur early fall rather than late fall but who knows? They also said they will most likely be adding a couple classes here and there to accommodate for attrition that occurs between now and when/if the flow begins this fall. Talk to them again late last week and said they already had twenty something in the pool and have interviews still scheduled through July.
Hope this helps
