Does anybody know how long would it take right now to hold a line either in MSP or DTW?

A while. But anyone hired now shouldn't be on rsv too long if the rumored flows really happen early next year.

By a while you mean 6 months, a year? And also, what percentage of the actual pilot group has flow rights?

About 317 of 435 pilots can flow.

Again this came from the recruiter...355 have hard flow through rights and are expected to be gone by Jan 2014.

At best May of 2015, that is if Delta takes the max 110 a year.

Yeh for more than 25% of the list to flow per rolling year a change would have to be made to the current arrangement. I don't see why Compass would agree to that because of the massive amount of training it would create. 25%/year seems about right to keep payroll costs down and training manageable. And from counting on the seniority list 317 with flow is the right number. I think the recruiter's getting a little carried away.

Your time on reserve as Cam suggested earlier is highly dependent on when Delta decides to send the magic flow letters out. I wouldn't want to speculate about your duration on reserve, so I'll do something you don't see very often on forums, I'll give you some facts. Personally, I've been on property for a year, been on the line for oh, say seven months, and depending on where crew scheduling puts reserve levels at, the best I've managed is a built up line to 65 hrs in April and a high speed line back in February. At this point in time, you need about 15-20% below you before you can start taking advantage of pre-builts (high speeds) and built-up lines. That being said, it looks like they raised reserve levels pretty good this month, so I'm back on reserve and I'm bidding about 82% right now out of MSP. Ah what the hell....In the spirit of prognostication, I'd say 4-6 months of reserve if you finished IOE today, depending on how you choose to bid. Hope that helps. Good luck guys!!

That's useful... Thanx a lot! By the way, is DTW the junior base? Or both bases are spread out evenly?
