Classes have already been filled up to September, and they will continue to interview for classes and possibly a pool.

Do they still send you home for 30 days to study on our own?

Any ideas on how to get noticed by compass?

Be a furloughee, and have a degree. It takes over a year for some people, it's a relatively small company.

This just in straight from CP Chief Pilot E-mail:
In response to recent developments in our industry your Pilot Recruiting department felt it necessary to update you on the current hiring/recruiting situation.
First off, I’d like to start with some positive news. After several months of work between the recruiting, flight ops, and legal departments of both Compass Airlines and Delta Air Lines: we’re pleased to announce the Delta Guaranteed Interview Program. This program will give non-flow pilots an opportunity to interview at Delta––provided they meet Delta’s competitive hiring requirements. Although it’s not a guaranteed job at Delta, it does offer a significant advantage to Compass pilots over pilots applying from the street. At this time, Compass is the only airline to present our pilots this unique opportunity. Attached is a flyer outlining the requirements of eligibility requirements for program participation. As some metrics of the Guaranteed Interview Program have yet to be determined, more details will follow in the coming months.
I’m also aware that this news comes to you on the heels of some very sad news regarding the pending furloughs at Pinnacle Airlines. Many of our pilots (myself included) have friends that fly for Pinnacle who will soon be losing their jobs. At this time our current hiring plan only calls for 8 new-hire positions. These class slots should be filled by the next round of interviews which are scheduled for this week. We’ll begin calling candidates soon to schedule them for interviews on the weeks of 5/21 and 6/18. Pilots hired from these rounds of interviews will be placed into a hiring pool––future class dates and sizes have yet to be determined. If you have a colleague or friend that you’d like to refer, please send a letter of recommendation and resume to [email protected]. Be sure that the pilot you’re referring is qualified and has applied. As always, pilot applicants with internal recommendations will be screened before all other applicants.*
Right now, our requirements are:
•* ATP mins per FAR § 61.159
•* Commercial Pilot Certificate with Multi-engine Airplane & Instrument Rating
•* FCC Restricted Radiotelephone Operator’s permit
•* Current 1st Class Medical Certificate
•* ATP Written
•* Must have a valid passport
•* Four year degree (Preferred)
•* Legally authorization to work in the U.S.
•* In possession of, or eligible to hold an unrestricted US multi-engine ATP certificate
•* 500 hours Multi-engine time (Preferred)
I wish I had more positive news regarding open class slots––nobody likes the idea of fellow pilots being without work. I will keep you updated in regards to new classes and our upcoming demand for pilots.
Thank you to those of you who have already referred qualified candidates, and thank you in advance to those of you who will.
