You can only be assigned ready reserve for half the available reserve days in a month. They are also limited to giving you no more than 3 in a stretch. So if you have 6 days of reserve you will get no more than 3 ready reserves, and if you had 22 days of reserve you can not get more than 11 in the whole month.
Also on the last day of reserve you are released at 1800 no matter what. Only way this would not happen is if you were assigned a trip that ended after 1800.
So you should not have an issue making the last flight to most cities if you are not used.

The rumors are just that. They range from Delta taking 120 flows later this year to no flows until 2015. And no growth to 6 more planes for Delta, and "we have been noticed by other carriers". Who knows. The rumors tend to be positive, but I will count on that once it has already happened.

Which could just mean some has put feelers out for bids. Regional airlines are bidding on work all the time and with so many players chances are your airline is not the lowest. The issue with compass is to fly for someone else we need planes and although CRJ's are trading hands all the time E-170's are a lot harder to come by. Also they are larger airframes which means there has to be room in the major airline's scope allow compass flying and most all of those slots are already taken. Nothing says we can't take on another fleet type, but with GoJet already flying CRJ's for a lower pay rate I highly doubt it would ever make financial sense to throw any CRJ work our way. Compass is kind of a niche product which can be both good and bad, but don't bank on any growth.
