Some recent info from new hire class.....
If LAX shuttle flying goes well, there is a good possibility of an LAX base.
Also, no plans to shut down DTW base yet....but it was said not to make any plans with regards to living in base in DTW, if you can avoid it, especially if phases 1 and 2 of LAX flying go well...which would lead to a phase 3 flying expansion out of LAX. Phase 2 begins in January.

October 6 slots
November 4 slots
December 20 slots
January 30 slots
February 16 slots
March 4 slots
April - June 12 slots
June - December 60 - 80 slots
These numbers are based off of 115ish flows. There's a possibility of 140 flows based on an inflated pre-flow seniority list.
True, we will have a very busy training dept.

Some recent info from new hire class.....
Was recently told that there is a good possibility that NEWHIRE(yes it was specific that is was new hires and not recurrent) classes starting in around the January time frame will in fact be doing SIM training in Paris, France, unless other SIM time can be secured. Said it would not make sense to send recurrent sim trainees all the way to Paris for only a day or two(Would take an active pilot offline for too much time) Also had to do with less international flight by sending newhires for long-term sim training vs more international flights for active pilots in recurrent short-term sim training.
Classes anticipated up until June of next year. Classes are filled through the end of October, as of now at least. This is to cover expected attrition and to cover the new duty/time rules that go into effect this January. Around 160-180 hires for this hiring wave at Compass. (The following is my math to explain why it might be 160-180 new hires...approx. 130-140 flows, 5-10 pilots leaving to other airlines, with the remaining to cover increased pilots for the new duty/time rules)
Compass is expecting to flow around 130-140 in the first year of Delta hiring. This is now a higher number because of the increased number of pilots on the seniority list. And as of now, Compass plans to be ahead of Delta so that there are currently no anticipated holding back of flow-thrus. As of now, Compass is not sure when the flows will start, but they are expecting either December or January.

Hopefully this gives some people a little more of an idea of what is going on. I'm sure it changes daily, but at least it is something to go on.

How senior/junior would LAX go if they opened it? And when would it potentially open?

I heard Compass will be holding back 90 days. My source was a VP from Endeavor who was told this by Delta. Compass pilots still get seniority numbers and are only on probation for 9 months in theory only take a payout for 9 months not a bad deal.
